2 Tokugawa Ieyasu

A person’s life is like shouldering a heavy burden along the road. You mustn’t hurry. If you think discomfort is to be expected, you won’t be disappointed.

When craving arises in your heart, remember times of suffering.

Patience is the basis for getting along smoothly, without accident. Think of anger as the enemy.

It is dangerous to only know victory and not know failure.

Reflect on your own actions; do not push the responsibility on others.

It is better to stop short rather than overdo.
